“Fully automatic” is one of those phrases that sellers put in every listing, and by now it means almost nothing on its own. A machine that dispenses pre-made cases from a hopper gets called fully automatic. A machine that prints a design you sent to a factory two weeks ago gets called fully automatic. Neither of those is what people are looking for when they type “fully automatic phone case vending machine” into a search box. What they want is the kiosk that does the whole job in front of the customer: print, payment, delivery, no staff anywhere.

That is the machine this article is about. Wider Matrix builds one, the WM880, and I will walk through what “automatic” actually means when you go through the full loop, where the automation stops, and what the thing costs. If you are comparing machines from different factories, that boundary between what is automated and what is still your job is the single most useful thing a seller can tell you.
the automatic loop, step by step
Here is what happens when a customer walks up to a Wider Matrix WM880. They scan the QR code on the screen. They pick their phone model from the list, which covers iPhone 16, iPhone 15, Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Huawei, and OPPO lines. They upload a picture from their phone. They pay by card, NFC, QR, or cash if you have that configured. The machine prints the photo directly onto a blank TPU + PC case using UV ink and hands it out.
The whole thing takes about two minutes. Nobody at your company was awake for it. The order shows up in the management system with its status and payment record, and the revenue shows up in the daily sales statement with the rest of that day’s transactions.
That is the loop. Everything in the next section is what makes the loop possible without you standing there.
what the machine automates besides the sale
The print itself is only half of “fully automatic.” The other half is everything around the print that used to need a person.

The WM880 uses AI-assisted visual recognition to position each print, so the image lands correctly on the case with no white borders. This matters more than it sounds, because misaligned prints are the main cause of wasted cases and customer complaints on machines that lack it.
Inventory tracking is optional but worth the extra $200: a camera module on top of the machine monitors stock per slot in real time, so the app tells you which models are running low before the machine starts refusing orders. Without it, you are checking slots by hand. With it, restocking becomes a scheduled errand instead of a discovery.
The management side runs on a phone or PC app. You get daily, weekly, and monthly sales charts, full order history, live machine status with alarms, and connectivity monitoring. You can also set promotions from the app, discount rules with time windows and quantity limits, without touching the machine. The interface supports multiple languages (English, Russian, French, Arabic, Korean, and more) and multiple currencies, which is why Wider Matrix ships these to operators in different countries without shipping a different machine each time.
When something does break, Wider Matrix runs 7×24 after-sales support. A machine that sells overnight in a mall needs someone answering at 3 AM somewhere, and this is one of the things to check with any factory before you sign. If you are vetting suppliers on this point specifically, our guide on choosing a smart phone case vending machine factory covers what questions to ask.
where “fully automatic” honestly stops
I would rather tell you this here than have you find out after delivery. A fully automatic phone case vending machine still needs a human for four things:
Restocking blanks. The WM880 holds 1,020 to 1,025 cases inside, which is a lot of runway, but eventually you open the door, lay blank cases flat with the back facing up, keep the stack under the red line, and push them in. Five minutes of work, but it is work.

Ink. The tank holds 2,000 ml, which lasts a long time, and a four-color Epson UV hard ink set costs $100, but someone swaps the set when levels drop. The app shows you printer status so you are not guessing.
Location and power. The machine is 1340 x 990 x 2170 mm and 380 kg, runs on 110V to 220V at 410W, and needs a power outlet and permission from whoever owns the floor. The location decision is the part no factory can automate for you, and it matters more than any spec. Our breakdown of 24/7 self-service phone case vending goes through realistic ROI scenarios by location type.
Cash handling, if you enable it. Coins and bills still need collecting.
So “fully automatic” means the machine runs itself hour to hour and reports to you. It does not mean zero maintenance. Anyone selling you zero maintenance is selling you a story.
fully automatic vs. the alternatives people consider
Some operators start with a DIY setup: a desktop UV printer and a table at a market. That is a print shop, not a vending machine, and it only earns while you are standing at the table. If you are weighing that route anyway, our piece on the DIY phone case vending machine lays out what it costs and where it works.

The other alternative is a machine that vends pre-made cases from slots. That is a normal vending machine with phone cases in it. The fully automatic printing kiosk is different because the product does not exist until the customer designs it, which means no dead stock of designs nobody wanted and no need to predict what sells at that location. The machine holds over a thousand identical blanks and every case is made to order.
For the print-on-demand version, Wider Matrix offers three print head tiers. The F1080 is the base head with strong photo resolution. The i1600-U1 prints three times faster and lasts four times longer. The i3200-U1HD is the top tier, and the upgrade from i1600 to i3200 is lossless, meaning you pay $680 and keep the same machine. That upgrade path matters because a fully automatic machine is a multi-year asset, and you do not want to replace the whole kiosk when your volume grows.
what a fully automatic machine costs
Wider Matrix prices the WM880 at $4,999 for the F1080 version and $5,999 for the i1600 version, for orders of one to three units. Tier pricing kicks in at four units and improves from there. The optional inventory identification camera adds $200. Blank cases run $1.30 each at 1,000 pieces and $1.10 at 8,000, and the standard ink set is $100 for four colors.

Those are the real numbers, not teaser pricing. For the full picture of total cost of ownership, including shipping and what operators actually pay once the machine is running, see our guide on how much a phone case vending machine costs. If your market is the US specifically, the automatic phone case vending machine price guide for the USA breaks down landed cost and ROI in dollars.
On certifications: the WM880 carries CE, RoHS, ISO, CCC, and PSE, which covers most import requirements across Europe, Japan, and elsewhere. Worth confirming for your own country before you order.
what to check before you buy one
Before you send money to any factory for a fully automatic phone case vending machine, ask these:
Does the machine print on site or just dispense stock? Is the visual positioning automatic, or do prints come out crooked and you eat the waste? What does the management app actually show you, and can you see a live demo of it? What happens at 2 AM when a payment fails mid-order? What is the print head upgrade path, and what does it cost? And who stocks the blank cases, at what price, with what lead time?

Wider Matrix answers all of these with documentation and a live demo of the management system, because they are all on the spec sheet above. If another supplier hesitates on any of them, that hesitation is your answer.
The machines are connected over WiFi for the remote management, which is also how you get notified of alarms instead of discovering them on your weekly visit. If remote connectivity is central to how you plan to operate, the WiFi phone case vending machine guide explains what to expect from connected operation.
If you want the spec sheet and a quote for your location, get in touch with Wider Matrix and tell us the city and venue type you have in mind. We will come back with numbers you can actually plan around.

Widermatrix has been so great to work with especially Taylor. Taylor sends pictures and testimonials and data to help the decision process. Once decided the process is smooth and Taylor sends updates with pictures and videos of YOUR phone case vending machine along the way. The claims are real, this automated phone case dispenser is half paid back on my initial invest just after 2 months!
I bought two phone case vending machines, and they have been in operation for over three months and are very stable. The smartphone accessory kiosks have excellent reliability and require minimal maintenance.
This is my first time running a phone case vending machine business and it looks great. The automatic mobile accessory dispenser attracts many customers in my shopping mall location.
We ordered 5 units for our chain of convenience stores across Japan. The build quality is impressive and the custom branding option is a huge plus. Each machine was delivered with our logo perfectly printed. ROI has been excellent so far.
Great machine overall! The printing quality is sharp and the touch screen is very responsive. Only minor issue was the initial WiFi setup took a bit of time, but the support team helped us through it quickly. Would recommend.
Running this machine at a university campus has been a game changer. Students love the instant phone case printing feature. The payment system accepts everything — cards, QR codes, even coins. Very flexible for different markets.
I was skeptical at first but the machine exceeded my expectations. The print speed is fast (about 40 seconds per case) and the quality is comparable to professional printing shops. Already planning to order 3 more units.
Perfect for event venues! We placed ours at a concert hall and it generates consistent revenue. The remote monitoring via the app is fantastic — I can check sales and inventory from my phone anywhere in the world.
Good machine with solid build quality. The steel frame feels durable and the tempered glass front looks premium. Shipping took about 3 weeks to Australia which was reasonable. Customer support is responsive and helpful.
We've been operating this machine for 6 months now at a tourist spot in Dubai. Zero downtime, consistent print quality, and the payment system handles multiple currencies seamlessly. Best investment we've made this year.
