What is in the machine

The WM880 is a freestanding kiosk. It weighs 380 kg and stands 2.17 meters tall. The footprint is 1340 mm wide by 990 mm deep, which fits in a standard mall kiosk slot but does not fit through a narrow residential doorway. Plan your delivery route before the machine ships. Most operators use a freight company with a lift gate and pallet jack. Inside there is a UV printer, a case storage and feeding system, a payment terminal, and a touchscreen. The ink tank holds 2,000 ml, which lasts for thousands of prints before you need to refill. Power draw is 410W on standard 110V to 220V, so it plugs into a normal wall outlet. No special wiring.

Print heads and pricing

Wider Matrix offers the WM880 in two configurations at launch, with a third available as an upgrade. The print head is the main difference between them.

F1080 version (base)

Uses an Epson F1080-A1 print head. Good photo resolution, clear details. This is the version to buy if you are testing a single location and want to keep the upfront cost low. i1600-U1 version (standard)

Uses an Epson i1600-U1 print head. Prints three times faster than the F1080. The head lasts four times longer. Clarity is roughly double. i3200-U1HD upgrade

You do not need a new machine for this. If you start with the i1600 version, you can swap in an i3200-U1HD print head later for US$680. Same chassis, same software, same case capacity. Wider Matrix supports this as a lossless upgrade, meaning no firmware reset or factory return.

How a customer uses it

The transaction takes about two minutes from start to finish:

1. Scan the QR code on the machine screen with their phone.
2. Select their phone model (iPhone 16, iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Huawei, OPPO, and others).
3. Upload a photo from their phone gallery.
4. Pay by coin, cash, credit card, NFC tap, or QR payment.

The machine prints the photo directly onto the case using UV hard ink. The print has no white borders because the system uses AI-assisted positioning to align the image. The case drops into the pickup slot. Done.

Case and ink consumables

The WM880 prints on TPU+PC composite cases. These are the same dual-layer cases you find in retail stores: a soft TPU bumper with a rigid PC back. Wider Matrix supplies blank cases in two types.

Ink comes in two configurations. The standard i1600 version uses 4-color Epson UV hard ink at US$100 per set. The F1080 version uses 6-color ink at US$160 per set. Payment methods

The WM880 accepts five payment types:

Reloading cases and ink

Restocking takes a few minutes. You place blank cases flat in the storage tray with the back facing up. The placement height must not exceed the red line indicator inside the machine. Push the tray in and the feeding system handles the rest. Ink refills are straightforward: open the ink compartment, swap the cartridge or bottle, close it. No tools required.
