Why the LED ring matters more than you’d think

In a mall corridor lit by fluorescent ceiling panels, a vending machine is competing for a child’s attention against roughly fifty other visual stimuli. In a 5-star resort lobby, the competition shifts entirely: the cotton candy machine is competing against curated interior design, against staff uniforms, against the brand the guest has chosen to spend a week with.

The LED ring around the WM980+ cabinet runs a slow color shift during idle and pulses gently during active production. Why 400 servings out of the box matters

The standard WM980 holds 4 × 2 kg tanks, enough sugar for roughly 265 servings at the standard 30 g per serving. That is fine for a single mall kiosk with weekly refill visits. For a resort or theme park venue where a refill trip requires a service technician’s schedule and a maintenance window, the math flips.

The WM980+ ships with 4 × 3 kg tanks. At 30 g per serving, that is roughly 400 servings per fill. In a high-traffic venue running 60 to 100 servings on peak days, the WM980+ buys you a full week of operations between refills. You save on service visits, and you reduce the chance the machine runs out of sugar mid-afternoon on a Saturday.

The four steps a customer takes

1. Touch the screen and pick from 36 pattern options.
2. Choose a payment method. Coin, cash, credit card, and NFC all work. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay ride on the NFC reader.
3. Watch the machine spin. The 4 degrees of freedom robotic arm picks a fresh stick, dips it into the spinner head, and shapes the cotton candy into the chosen pattern in roughly 60 seconds.
